I remember when the world was at my feet;
I used to fall, ever so gracelessly in its copious arms-
heart sporadic, conviction leaping.
I remember when there was limbo;
I’d entered so fervently
eyes blazing and
heart breaking.
That was a time ago.
Purgatory and paradise
are safely tucked behind my ear,
a dry insurance policy.
Line me up, I’m waiting for
the middle.
